Question: 50's HSS strat question!?

Ok, I have this heirloom guitar that has the best sound I have ever heard in a guitar from this era!. The only thing is, it was specially made without a pickguard! Should I have one put on or should I just leave as-is!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

50's!?!?!?!?!? as a bonafide guitar nut and long time player I have never seen nor heard of such a guitar!. sounds like an 80's model to me!. Are the controls rear routed!? Imo, I'd leave it as isWww@QuestionHome@Com
