The bow needs some rosin!. That's all!. Rosin it up and you'll be playing beautifully in no time! :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

#1 - Did you tighten and rosin the bow!?

#2 - Is the bridge in the correct place!? It should be positioned just on the scroll side of the soundpost!.

#3 - Are the strings tuned properly!? Usually, when you have to place a bridge, you have to tune and re-tune the strings several times to get them all at the correct tension!.

#4 - Do you have a cello teacher!? Someone with a bit of experience should be setting up your instrument to make sure there is no damage done to the new cello!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well my answer is simply go to a music shop by some cello rosin and rub it on the bow !. without rosin there is no friction between the bow and the strings so the strings don't vibrate hence you get no musical sounds
(you must be new to playing the cello havn't ever had a lesson)Www@QuestionHome@Com
