Yes, you could still be a 'good' trap-set player if you don't use a kick drum!. It will be tough though, and a lot of people will give you hell for it!. Make sure that you are not excluding the bass drum just because you can't play it or it's tough for you to play the traditional way!. Just practice and it'll come to you!. But yes, if you really don't want to use it, you could be proficient and play well enough to match other drummers!.
Drumsets include Cymbals, not symbols(markings)!.
There is no basic 'set-up' for a drumset, you just have to develop your own style!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You could play the timbales, congas, and bongos which are Latin drums that are played with your hands and or sticks!. But you can't play a kit without a bass drum!. If you want to be good you have to be able to use all four of you limbs independently from each other!. Even crappy drummer can do that!. Practice, practice, practice!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you could have talent but i dont think your fills will be as good!. i not saying you need every little symbol, tom tom but a kick drum provides a bass deep sounds that is necessary!. name a top drummer of all time who didnt use one!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Absolutely not!. The basic set up is Floor tom, snare and a cymbal and you can't play the floor tom (bass) without one!Www@QuestionHome@Com
