Whenever I know that someone is listening to me, including my teacher, I panic and mess up all the notes!. Does anyone else experience this!? Is there something I can do to block out this fear!?

Whenever I know that someone is listening to me, including my teacher, I panic and mess up all the notes!. Does anyone else experience this!? Is there something I can do to block out this fear!? thanks in advanceWww@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: yea!.!. used to happen to me also!.!.!. but it slowly went away!.!.!. i reckon playing in front of people more often is the only key!.!.!. this is what i reckn!.!.!. play your guitar in your room, where your most comfortable and just play!.!.!.dont worry if anyone in your fam can hear you!.!. then start to bring it outside!.!.like in the living room etc!.!.!. where your fam will usually be walking by alot!.!.!. n if you at school, just play wenever you have music!.!.!. i dunno how your school structures your prac, but any time you can play infront of people, play!.!.!.practice whatever your learning!.!.!. also, if your game!.!.!. maybe play in some sort of performance!.!.like at school in a band comp or performing arts day!.!.!. get in a band!.!.!. rehearse your song/s until you kno it off by heart!.!.!. -good sign is when you can start to play from any part of the song and just go with it!.!.!. i was pretty bad, but got in a band with mates!.!.!. played fairly simple stuff at first, and got used to playin in front of people!.!.!. then eventually, that dread (esp assignment performances) changed and i fed off performances!.!.!. key is -if you make a big deal!.!.!.then people pick up on it and take more notice!.!. but yea!.!.!. who cares what they think anyway!.!.!. your awesomeWww@QuestionHome@Com This used to happen to me when I sang in public, even though folks told me I was easy on the ears!. Suggestion!? If you know someone with a digital cam !.!.!. make a brief recording of yourself playing guitar and get it out there on youtube!.com !.!.!. you can do this under an assumed name so you're public, but your not!. After you get some positive feedback, you could try getting your real name up there and add more clips!. If you're worried about not being good enough !.!.!. just go to youtube!.com and see what some others have put up there!. Sometimes it's just fun to share bits of yourself to the world via the Net!. Eventually, you'll get used to that sense of "someone's watching" and your confidence will grow!. Best of luck to you!! And keep playing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com it was usual happen to me, specialy go to a guitar shop and try a guitar!.!.!. i wasn't very good i was just starting and i was shy like sh*t!. try to don't think they are there imagine only you and your guitar, just concentrate on it!. that fear will desapear with the time believe me :)Www@QuestionHome@Com This happends to some people It used to happen to me I always used to be parinoid I'd mess up and think about it to much so I would screw up more because I was thinking about it to much You just need to relax about it Its not a huge deal if you mess upWww@QuestionHome@Com |
