Question: Bass Guitar Problems!?
Hey I've been playing bass for a while now but I've been having a problem lately!. I play a Schecter Stiletto Elite-5 at the moment and I oftne like to play it in different tunings, usually Eb or Db standard!. Only thing is, when I do these I have a hard time playing lower fret notes (i!.e!. frets 1-5)!. What happens is instead of playing the actual note, it half plays and just hits the fret bar so it really screws up the note!. I love to play in these tunings, what would I have to do to adjust my bass to play in the low of a tuning!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are killing your bass!. do you realize how much tension you are taking off the neck!?
You are removing over 100 pound!. What happens is that the eck tends to fall back and the strings start buzzing especally in the area you described!.

To remedy this, look from the headstock down towards the middle of the neck!.
Press the 1st and 12th fret!. If the fret touches the string in the middle of the neck, which I am sure it does, you have to loosen the truss rod by 1/4 to half a turn!.
You do this by turning the truss rod counter-clockwise!. Now try it!.!.!.!. If it is better but still buzzing, loosedn another 1/4 turn and that should do it!.

I fix a lot of those Schecter 5 string!. i even bought one!.!. Very good for the money!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think you may have your neck in a back bow!. use the truss rod and loosen it a little so the neck moves forward and the strings wont hit the fretboard!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
