practice marking time doing long tones with the bell up above normal level (slightly above horizontal)!. time how long you can keep your horn up like that & play!. this will help you build stamina-the hardest thing for rookies is how much effort it takes to just keep the horn up correctly!.

you can also start working upper body strength by doing pull ups, chin ups, and transverse pull ups (bar goes behind your head)!.

stretches are always good, work any that relax your back, shoulders etc!.

dont freak,!.!.!.you're gonna be a monster on the field, just give it all ya got!Www@QuestionHome@Com

if you can take lessons from anouther euphonium player that would help!. And also marching and playing, it takes more air!. Ususally with band members that switch, I'll have them pratice breathing excerises so they're lungs will get used to itWww@QuestionHome@Com

Do stretches definitely then practice holding up the horn for a time, start with 30 seconds and add 10 seconds each, soon, you will be able to hold it for a long time!. when you practice playing it, stand up and play it, get used to it allWww@QuestionHome@Com

It would take many lessons for me to train you, but if your looking to relieve stress, do streches and deep breathing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
