I can tell you a bit about the school - I'm a parent of a student who was unhappy at her previous school, moved to VCASS and did really well!. The most importnat thing to know is that the school is a government school with limits on enrolment (200 local and 20 international studnets, so it's small and friendly), not a private school with a profit motive!. So all staff have the incentive to do what is right for the student, and won't try to talk you into going there if it desn't suit you!. They select based on potential as well as current skills - it's a school, so they expect to teach you! There's a lot of audition info at http://www!.vcass!.vic!.edu!.au/entry/!. It offers a full program for the VCE - exact details change from year to year according to student preference, and they do well - quite a few got in the top 5% in the state academically last year!. It's a lovely community, the students are friendly with each other and the staff are all supportive - it's lovely to see maths and English teachers coming to student perfoemances in the evenings, in their own family time!. There's lots of stuff on the website, have a good look at that - check out hte newsletters, perhaps the best one is the big education week issue for 22 may as that gives a good view of the school as a whole!. Audition process is described on the website too - only about one in 8 or 10 get in, but don't let that put you off, they select on potential remember!. Have a good look at the web site, then contact the school and have a talk to them!. The Principal is Colin Simpson but he's overseas looking at other performing arts schools for the next few weeks; the acting principal has been there for many years and can give good advice too!. remember they have no incentive to persuade you to enter the school if it's not right for you!. I know a lot of musicians enter the school for year 11, not sure about dancers!. Oh, and a complete brand new school is being built at the moment, ready for next year!. It costs you nothing to talk to them - you'll get some good, free advice before deciding whether to audition - and even that doesn't commit you to anything!. I'm sure youre right to explore your choices, now is the time to do it, any later would be too late!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Information is below about VCA!. Before you make a decision to leave your school, you might try addressing your current issues by talking with:
1) Your parents!. - Tell them what you perceive to be true about what is going on at your current school!.
2) School administrators at your current school!. - Schedule an appointment for you and your parents to meet with an administrator!.

Year 10 is a difficult time of life, for many reasons!. A teacher that I had, and respected very much, was our Class Advisor for High School!. In year 10, she told us how much she disliked students of our age!. She told us that she would prefer to talk to us the following year!. At the time, it sounded quite ironic and silly!. However, she was one of the best, and most honest teachers that I ever had!.!.!. not to mention outspoken!. That year did prove to be a real challenge, in many ways!. When the year was over, everything turned out the way that it was supposed to!. Why I am sharing this with you is to show you that all or most of us have gone through similar trials and tribulations in our lives, at different times!.

If you speak with your parents, and the school administration!.!.!. and, you take into account the type of personal things that I have shared with you!.!.!. perhaps everything will be fine for you!.!.!. next year!. However, if you discover in this process that your intuition was correct, and your parents agree with this, follow your heart!.

Best of luck to you!
