A lot would depend on the sound you are looking for!. Spruce tops, Mahogany, Koa, Maple!.!. they each have their own sound characteristics!. Same goes for the body size of a guitar!. Usually the smaller the body, the thinner the overall sound, and this usually will translate when amplified as well!. Your standard "Dreadnaught" has a very rich warm sound, with Jumbo's being more so!. Having had previous music experience, youve been around a lot of guitar players!. What are some of the acoustics that they play, and which ones do you like the sound of!? Thats some questions worth asking yourself right there!. Takamine, Fender, Alvarez and Wechter is a good place to start in my opinion, as well as having a 3 band E!.Q!. While a lot of companies have built in tuners on their acoustic/electrics, I would not necessarily consider that to be a strong selling point!. Sweetwater Music has some good info on "tone woods" and their characteristics, and theres several more to be found surfing the net as well!. Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some companies that make good acoustic/electric guitars include: Takamine, Taylor, Martin, Yamaha!.

Just make sure you play it before buying!. How does the setup feel!? Is the neck and string height comfortable for you!? Does the guitar sound good and full when played acoustically!? And finally, when you plug into an acoustic amp or PA, does the guitar still sound good!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've heard good reviews on the guitars from rondomusic!. The reviews from Harmony Central had a average 9!.3 overall!. Their Agile Les Paul copies are really nice!. I own one and their better than Epiphone's Les Pauls!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd say to save up like 100 more bucks and get an Ovation!. They're by far my favorite acoustic/electric guitar!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
