Question: What would be the best digital firewire-based audio recording interface to purchase!?
After a very frustrating and discouraging experience of cutting a demo at a studio with an incompetent engineer, I've decided to invest in my own home recording studio!. I was hoping to hear from a recording engineer (I'm hoping that there is at least one or two of you on here) or another musician into home recording on what the best digital recording audio interface would be!. I'm looking for a pro-level interface as I eventually (after I figure out what I'm doing) want my recordings to be up to par with stuff that comes out of high-end studios!.

Right now I'm leaning towards the Presonus Firewire Studio!. ( http://www!.musiciansfriend!.com/product/P!.!.!. )

Would this be enough to achieve what I'm going for!? Any other recommendations from someone with experienced recording knowledge would be greatly appreciated, and if you have any recommendations on condenser mics and reference monitors - I'd love to hear those too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

ProTools or Logic Audio with an M-Box (from M-Audio) - you should be able to get the software bundled with the hardware!. Both are industry-standard; I use them both and personally prefer ProTools, but that's all personal choice! I know quite a few engineers who use ProTools, less who use Logic - while Logic is extremely, extremely powerful, it has more features that I'll ever need and can be a bit complicated, whereas ProTools is a bit more user-friendly and certainly does not lack for features!. The setup you've linked to seems a bit of an overkill for a home studio - we use a 2-in 8 -out M-Box and it does everything we need!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
