It's not REALLY hard to learn but it's not easy either!. I started learning on an electric, with an amp, and I got discouraged pretty quick!. I had a friend that played and he showed me some things, but it didn't help much!. He then suggested an acoustic, as it wouldn't amplify my mistakes!. Making that change helped me a great deal!. I learned a the basic chords and some scales!. I practiced the chords and scales over and over, learning a new chord every couple of weeks!. The more I played the better and more confident I got!. I've been playing for about 10 years now and have a lot of fun with it!. Try starting with an acoustic first!. They are much cheaper, and you can get one that has electric pickups and you can plug it into an amp!. You can find an amp that isn't a top dollar name brand to start with and move up in quality and price after you have played for a while!. Now that I've made a short story long, all you have to have is a guitar, some pics, a chord book, and a desire to learn!. Best of luck!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Purchasing a guitar, an amp, and investing in some lessons are obvious first steps!. My tips are as follows:

- 'Test Drive' guitars (walked into a music store, grab yourself a salesman!. test as many types of guitars as you can and find one that you really LIKE!. if you like your instrument!.!.!. you're more likely to stick with it!. When you find one you like!.!.!. either purchase it there or find the same model online)

- Name Your Guitar (for added attachment)

- Buy a sturdy strap, some headphones, and a Marshall Mini Amp that you can clip to your belt!. Those ten steps from your room to your refrigerator are a perfect time to practice!.

- Learn your scales as early as possible (most beginners only learn chords!. Getting your scales engraved into your head will make guitar playing and writing much more enjoyable)

- Learn to play more than just those Pop-Punk power chords!. Your grandparents cheesy music can actually improve your skill level

- Building callouses may be uncomfortable at first but stick with it! If all else, dry some super glue on your finger tips!. I do this all the time when I rip off callouses from bending!.

- Stay away from GripMasters, they can cause damage if used long term!.

- Utilize your pinky finger! For some reason, beginners tend to shy away from using their pinkys!. It's akward at first but a necessity for advanced playing!.!.!.!. and a hard habbit to get into later on!.

Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

that's great!
no, its not really hard to learn!. but it DEFINITELY takes a lot of practice and determination!.!.!.

all you need to get started is just the guitar and an amp!. If youre just starting, you can usually just get a starter set for around 150 dollars!.!.!.you also should get a good teacher!.!.Its gonna save you a lot of time and you can always ask if you have questions and such!.

if you're really serious about wanting to learn, i'd recommend getting a good guitar and amp!. good guitar brands are gibson and epiphone!.!.!.and i'd recommend a Marshall amp!.

good luck and have fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You know you need the guitar, you will also need a practice amp!. No reason spending tons of money on something you dont know if you will get into yet!. You need a cord for the guitar to the amp!. also pick up some chord and scale books!. the simpler the better for right now!. There are alot of starter music books!.!. Go talk to someone in your local guitar shop, they can help you out alot!. It doesnt hurt to have someone to play with as well!. I started when I was about 16!. Had alot of fun with it!.

Just remember, its going to take time, its going to be hard on your fingers, and you will not become eddie van halen over night!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No it is not that hard but it takes a lot of practice!. You can buy starter kits that come is a decent electric guitar, extra replacement strings, an amp, extra picks, and a dvd that teaches you how to play for around $200!. They are all over the place!. You can get them at wal-mart, Best buy, or order it online!. I started playing guitars with on of those kits!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i would recommend getting a combo package, they come with a guitar and an amp, and theyre usually preyy cheap!. besides a pick, thats basically all you need!. you can find these combos at sites like guitarcenter!.com or your local music store!.

i learned mainly off the internet, through websites like ultimate-guitar!.com and cyberfret!.com!. it may seem really hard at first, but believe me, it pays off!. best of luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

guitar is really fun! its not too hard, but if you get stuck on something it can get pretty frustrating

in the very beginning, the only thing you will really need is

a tuner (http://www!.google!.com/products!?um=1&hl=e!.!.!.

once you start doing chords, (maybe even before)you'll need

PICKS(http://www!.google!.com/products!?q=guitar+!.!.!.

i dont recommend buying an amp unless you decide you really like it after a while, because they are pretty expensive, and if you change your mind it would suck!. if you do get an amp but dont want to spend all your money, you could always get a microcube (http://www!.google!.com/products!?q=microcu!.!.!.
they are very small, good quality, and will cost you less than buying a regular sized amp like one of these (http://www!.google!.com/products!?q=fender+!.!.!.

Hope this helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com
