Buy a digital guitar tuner!.!.!.costs about £10!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Get an electronic guitar tuner!. They're available at any music store!. Keep it in your case and use it everytime you play!. I personally recommend the Intellitouch!. They clip onto the headstock of your guitar and "feel" the vibrations of the string you're tuning and tell you whether its sharp or flat or just right!. IMO, they're more accurate than the ones with built in mics that "listen" to your guitar!.

You should never have to pay money to get your guitar tuned, that's just silly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You need a tuner!. Until then, use a piano or small keyboard, EADGBE if you have a small keyboard, or a Key-of-C recorder/flute!. also, there is an online guitar tuning website, if you look for it, and you hear the notes, presumably to match them with your ear, and not via microphone or any direct interface!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

low E to high E - hit the harmonic - lightly touch the 5th fret and the 7th fret of the next highest string and compare the 2 sounds and tune til they sound the same ---- or ----- buy a digital tuner --- or ---- search guitar tuning on line, there are loads!. Try searching Dave Freshwater - fine instruments indeed xxWww@QuestionHome@Com

to tune it to itself (it may be out of tune from other instuments, but will sound ok)

play the 5th fret on the thickest string!. this is the note needed for the next string!.
it's the thickest except on one, it think it's the 3rd or 4th, but if you know what the scale should sound like then you will know when it's wrong!.

these things take practice to tune the ear!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Www!.waterstoneguitars!.com/tuner!.

Once you get the bottom E in tune, you can tune the rest of the guitar to itself!. The notes are E A D G B E!. If you hold the 5th fret of the bottom E string it produces the note A!. Then tune the A string by ear to this note!. This is the same if you press the 5th fret of the E A D strings, however, to get the note B, you have to hold the 4th fret of the G string!. Then press the 5th fret of the B string to get the E!.

sorry if that's a bit unclear (that's why I gave you that website too)

BUY a TUNER!.!.!. they are cheap and you won't break strings or damage your guitar because you don't know how to tune it AND if you have a cheapo guitar for $100 or less, then you need to tune it about every 5 minutes anyway because cheapo guitars don't stay in tune!.!.!. that is why they are CHEAPO GUITARSWww@QuestionHome@Com
