I am giving lessons to a quite young student and here's what I say to him!. !. !. !. pretend your fingers are ballerinas dancing to the music!. They get WAY, WAY UP on their tippy tippy toes and dance on the finger board!.
As you get positioned to hold a note or make a chord, ensure that your THUMB is in the center of the back of the neck and you elbow should be pushed forward!. These two things may help in seperation!.
also you may want to think about a guitar with a wider neck and wider string spacing!. Many guitarists use a method in playing acoustic or electric guitar of holding two strings at once, not a barr but the same principal!.

Hi Woverine

Your best bet is to get a Gibson or Epiphone!. They have the widest neck on the market!.

If you are looking for an acoustic guitar, check out Takamine!.

Now, if that is not within your possibility, and your wrist is PARALLEL to the fingerboard, than, just pick the correct string using the alternate picking method!.
Make sure you are playing with the tip of the finger and not the ball!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

perhaps use a nylon guitar, there is a wider gap between the strings!.

get a guitar teacher, this may help with technique!. alternatively take up bass guitar, or drums

big hands can actually really help, Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa both had large hands!. jimi used his thumb to play the low e string notesWww@QuestionHome@Com

get as much of hte tip closts to your nail as possible on the fret i guess, ive never had that problem!. but dont get a new guitar!. learn to work with what you have!. otherwise in the future youll be severely limiting yourselfWww@QuestionHome@Com
