Question: How can I change my "choir" voice to a belt!?
I've been singing since choir was offered at my school, which is around 5-6 years!. I sing Alto II and I'm able to sing higher notes, in my higher register and can reach the marks for a Mezzo Soprano!.

I'm also interested in improving my "choir-like" voice to a belt, because I am interested in being in musicals one day!. I think if I start now, my voice will mature with time and get better with time!.

I have choir class each morning during the school year, from 7-9:30, and sing in 2 different choirs!. At home I sing a lot too, not necessarily the music from choir, but lots of Broadway tunes, ranging from RENT to WICKED (I love Elphaba's songs) and LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL!.

It's a dream of mine to make it on Broadway some day, but I know my voice needs to mature a lot more!. Does anyone have methods to make a slow, but steady change to a belt without totally losing my choir voice!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just keep working on expanding ur range!. Do scales, warm-ups like "zinga, zanga, zonga" or something, doing them each time getting louder!. The farther ur range expands the stronger ur original notes will get!. especially if u keep doing ur scales, scales r the key!Www@QuestionHome@Com
