Question: I love to sing at home, but at school I look at other people and I think they sing way better!.Help!?
Well, I have been in an Oakland Youth Choir for like 3 years and I love to sing!.The thing is that I am mostly shy and I mostly sing at home!.At home, I think I sing so good, but when I go to school I see other people sing and I think they are better then me!.I always wanted to be a singer, but I am afraid that if I tell people, they might just laugh at me and say I can't sing!.I want to follow my dreams, but it seems like it's not coming true!.Please help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I understand your dilemma!. There are three things!. The first thing is that it is a known fact that your own voice sounds different to your ear than to other people's!. I'll bet you sound better than you think, like someone else mentioned here!. Second, it is hard to sing in public without self-confidence, which is difficult to manage!. But make yourself do it! It's worth it for you!. Third, improve your singing so you do actually feel you're up to par!. Someone else suggested that you get a voice teacher!. I agree with them, but also in your choir, try to learn as much as you can and put your all into it!. I know you can do this! Be confident in yourself!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I’m into theatre at my school, and I tried out for our musical!.
I was pretty sure that I wasn’t going to get in because I didn’t think I was very good and I hadn’t ever taken voice lessons before
Turns out they thought I had a wonderful talent and I got a lead role in the musical!.
I take voice lessons now and I want to do something in musical theatre in my future!. I say go for it, you've got nothing to loose!. You may be a lot better than you think you are!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

go for it and just ignore them :)

Ask your teacher for the name of a good private voice tutor (they won't be offended) to refine your technique!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
