Question: Chamber Orchestra Help!!!!?
Okay, I am only in 6th grade and it is also my first year playing a violin, so I don't have a lot of experience!. But I have won a $200 scholarship to pay a private teacher!. My teacher says that you have to audition to be in the Chamber Orchestra in my school!. I will audition in September, after my private lessons!. Do any of you have any tips of what songs I can play, or just information on what I should expect!? You may think it sounds dumb to be in a Chamber Orchestra on my 2nd year of violin, but if I can win a scholarship, then I hope I can do anything else!. I am a really hard worker, so that might help!. Thank You So Much For The Tips You Give Me, It Is Really Helpful!. ^_^Www@QuestionHome@Com

Prepare pieces which you are comfortable with!. Exam pieces are usually a good gauge for this!. Ask your teacher to help you choose pieces which are suitable for you!. It's always a plus if you find a piece which you like!. It's important to find out what is required of you for your audition - you might need to play some scales or arpeggios!.

Orchestral playing is a totally different ball game from playing the violin 'normally'!. Here, you have to watch the conductor and listen to the other instruments, and fit into the big picture well with all of them!. It will be a tiring, frustrating, but ultimately rewarding experience!. You will make friends, learn about different instruments, and perform onstage!.

I've played in symphony orchestras, string orchestras, Chinese orchestras, and relished every minute of it!. Well, probably not - the rehearsals can be drudgery and take up a lot of time, sometimes more time than you'd like - but the applause I receive after the performance tells me it's all worth it in the end!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
