It's important to have a mouthpiece that blows evenly, gives you control over your sound, and allows you to play in tune at all dynamic levels!.

If you're still playing on the mouthpiece that came with the horn, or a student mouthpiece, I would suggest purchasing a Selmer C*, or something equivalent, also medium-faced and of good quality, as soon as possible!. The C* should allow you to develop your sound, until you are ready to move on to a more customized mouthpiece!.

Otherwise, you might want to have your saxophone checked!.!.!. by a reputable repair person!.!.!. for leaks, alignment, and possibly a re-pad, depending upon what he or she says!.

Best of luck to you!Www@QuestionHome@Com
