Mezzo, I'm sorry, I meant to give you a thumbs up!!!

A beginning cello outfit (includes soft case, instrument, bow and rosin) is about $800!. Along with that you'll need to buy music, rock stop (unless you sharpen the endpin), better rosin, better strings!.

Student cellos run, as mezzo said, $1,000-$2,000!. The bow they give you is poo!. I don't like fiberglass at all!. The weight of the pernambuco wood is just a lot nicer, its more flexible and really responds!. You'll get a better craftsmenship job with a wooden bow too!.

Anyway, for trying out instruments, since you're a beginner, I'd bring your teacher or an accomplished cellist with you to try them out!. Try them only at a verifiable luthier (violin specialist) shop!. You try them, have them try them!. Listen for how each string sounds!. Have the pros check out they're set up!. For the bow you want to see how it reacts to all different strokes (Partially why you need a teacher)!. Spicatto, playing in the upper half, lower half, balance point!. You want to see how it reacts!. Make sure there's plenty of rosin!. Have your teacher check out the setup, make sure the frog is snug against the stick and all that!. If you have more questions you can email me!.

Well, cello prices can range pretty dramatically from around $1000-20000+!. For a student model, expect to spend around $1000-$3000!. As for bows, most beginner cellos will have a bow included, usually made out of fiberglass!. If you can find an affordable one made out of wood, I would recommend that!. I prefer a heavier wood for my bows, but it really is a personal preference!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
