First, flute is much easier to play and easier to find a place in any band!.
Clarinet, is one of the hardest instruments to play!. That is why most sax players start on the clarinet so that, the transition to a sax is much easier to play and to blow in it!.

It's still hard to produce any sound with a flute but it requires less wind effort as a clarinet!.
Once you get a clean sound on a clarinet and play just good, you will find saxonphone a cinch to play well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think a clarinet would be the best one to get!.
because it's somewhat easier to play!.
with a flute it's kind of hard to get sound out of it because you have to blow just right!.
however, a clarinet has A LOT of keys, and you have to use a reed!.
