The answer is simple: form the D chord as you usually do, but place your left thumb on the sixth string, second fret!. Play all the strings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What this means is they want you to play a D chord with an F# in the bass!.

So you can play an open D chord- open D is on the fourth string, A (use 2nd finger) on the 2nd fret of 3rd string, D (3rd finger) on the 3rd fret of 2nd string, and an F# (4th finger) on the 2nd fret of 1st string!.

Then- Put your 1st finger on the LOW F# on the 2nd fret of the 6th string!. This gives you the D/F#!.

You may find it easier to bar your 1st finger from the low F# all the way down to the hight F#!. And use one other finger for the D on the 2nd string/3rd fret!. But doing this you will lose your open D on the 4th string- which makes it sound rich and full!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The D chord already contains the Fsharp!.!.!.!.!.!.I'd have to see how this was written in order to see what you mean !!!!!!!!!
