All musicians feel this way at times!. Just slow down and try to practice more precisely, do your scales on a daily basis, set aside and hour a day every day and devote it to slow practice, give this a try for about a year and see if you feel better about your playing!.!.!.!.!.!.maybe you need a rest from all the pressures of playing for competitions and your nerves have gotten the best of you!. Don't ever give up something that you've put so much time into!.!.!.!.!.!.I'm sure it's just a faze and you'll feel better about your playing after a rest from the pressures of playing for other people, knowing an instrument well enough for first and second chair isn't something to give up, your just in a slump, playing music is something you'll enjoy all of your life!. We all feel the same way at one time or another, most artist do!.!.!.!. in all my years of playing classical guitar I bet that I felt the same way at least five or six times!.!.!.!.!.I think that we sometimes expect too much of ourselves!.!.!.!.!.just give it a little time, but please don't quit!.!.!.!.!!!!!!!! good luck to you !!!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just practice and have determination; you'll make the highest orchestra eventually!. I'm sure, if you were 1st chair in the 2nd orchestra, that it was a fluke that you didn't make the 1st!

If you love playing, work up solos and play them for groups of friends, anyone who'll listen, or become a street performer and make some money on the street! (hehe)!. This way, you can improve your playing while having something to do and playing the instrument you love so much!Www@QuestionHome@Com

if you can just put it away for awhile!
it's called burn out!~ been there done that!
longer the better, fresh prospective so to say!
if you cant, try new stuff, and the hell with what anyone thinks
