Question: Ukulele Tuning!?
So I have a soprano ukulele and my dad recently tuned it!. But when I go onto sites like Youtube and watch people's tuning lessons, their ukuleles sound so much higher than mine!.

I want to tune my ukulele, but I'm afraid my strings are going to snap!. Have any of you felt the same about tuning your ukulele!? And if you have tuned a ukulele, have strings ever snapped on you!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here's a nice Beatle web site for ukulele which has a built in tuner, so you can determine if your uke is tuned to proper pitch!. http://beatlesite!.info/ click on the main page, then click on any song, then click on the little "tune on/off" button to hear each individual uke string!.

Once you get familiar with how a soprano uke should sound, it wouldn't hurt to pick up a chromatic tuner!. Some are as cheap as $15!.

Best of luck, and uke is such a happy little instrument, how could anyone not like it!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ignore those other silly answers!. Strings DO NOT snap all the time and the other guy is the one who needs to get a life!. Ukes are cool and that's all there is to it!

Your uke should be tuned to GCEA (from lowest to highest)!. Strings will break if they are old, defective, or simply worn!. However, I can't remember the last time I broke a uke string!. I break guitar strings all the time and it's just not a big deal so don't be afraid!.

Have fun with your uke! I have three of them and love them all!

If all the other ukes sound higher than yours, then you may not have a soprano uke!.!. it might be a concert or even a tenor size!. The strings won't snap!.!. you might wanna listen to midi files instead of youtube videos!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The first thing you need to do is quit playing the ukulele and get out more!. When you are watching tuning videos on Youtube, you are going over the edge!. Get youself a mouth harp like a grownup!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it will snap on you if you'll not be cautious!. try to be cautious even if it can still happen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
