They have pretty good sound, but they are not good quality!. They break down fairly easily and are intended to be starter basses!. I personally own a traben phoenix 4-string bass, and i would not reccomend a bc rich bass to anyone unless they were okay with it breaking within two years!.

Some better brands for bass are: gibson, fender, ibanez!. but thats just for starter sets!.

Are you intending to play metal!? thats usaully the genre people play when they get a bc rich bass!. Personally, I prefer traben basses, because they have better sustain, sound quality, and clearer notes because of the larger bridges!.

Other brands that are good: Epiphone, Peavey, Traben, Schecter!.

But it all depends what you are looking for!. If its for a long lasting bass, i would advise Epiphone, Traben, or Schecter!.
