Question: As a classical guitarist, what is the best way to learn how to improvise!?
I have a heavy classical backround, (I used to play the flute for a long time), and I never bothered to learn chord shapes up and down the fretboard so I don't know how to improvise!. What is the most effective method for going about this!? Should I just learn a chord a day up and down the fretboard!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pick the genre you wish to improvise within!. Play recorded songs within that genre and improvise over them!. Or, to get true mastery, study the works of Nina Gerber!. Or study with Nina if you are in the N!. California area!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Follow your heart!. That's what improvisation is!. Just do the next thing that occurs to you according to your feelings without trying to figure out what should come next!. The music will follow along on its own!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

uh ya I gues!. but the best way 2 improve anything is: Practice! practice makes perfectWww@QuestionHome@Com
