dont:
use your flute as a wacking stick

please dont huff and puff after everyother note when you play!. im assuming your a beginner!. the flute is one of the hardest because it requires alot of breathing more then others!. i would pratice holding your breath and then slowly letting it out with your lips in the flute way, ya know!?

also, your tounge plays an important part when your playing the flute!. mess around with it!. your tounge moves when you play different notes!. for me, when i play a higher note my tounge is more to the back of my mouth

aallssoo when you switch to a different note the way you move your tounge is important!. this comes to play when you are praticing faster notes!. dont rely on your tounge resting on the roof of your mouth when you are going to the next note for this will make a "da" sound!. pratice makes perfect when it comes to this!.

i personally hated the flute even though i was good at it!. it hardly took any effort for me but i still hated it!. its all about the saxophonesWww@QuestionHome@Com

Do
?Think about breath distribution
? Roll in to play flat, especially during a crecendo since louder notes tend to go sharp
? Roll out to play sharp, especially during a decrecendo since softer notes tend to to go flat
? Support your breath with good posture by either standing up or sitting on the edge of your chair with your feet flat on the ground
? Vibrato, from down deep in your diaphragm
? Focus your air stream for a centered tone

Don't
? If you're not doing something that's on or should be on the "do" list, you're doing a "don't!"Www@QuestionHome@Com
