Question: Playing soft on my trumpet but it sounds like im spiting HELP!!!!?

ok ive been play the trumpet for a few years now but CAN NOT play softly!.!.!. everytime i do it sounds like im spitting patheticly!.!. its not the trumpet or the mouth piece!.!. (just got a new trumpet and mouthpiece) HELP i really want to fix thisWww@QuestionHome@Com

lol!. ya its usually trumpet players that can't seem to play soft!. I play too!. your best bet is that if you don't like the way it sounds, stick a cup mute in!. This will hide any weird sounds coming from the trumpet and you won't worry about it every time!. After about a week you can switch to a straight mute and the next week try it un-muted!. This should help extremely and you should be very pleased with your resonant soft sound!. If not, then you should probably just give your trumpet a good cleaning!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

use the little cotton brush, (or whatever its called)stick it into the horn and cleanse it, i had that problem a lot in 6th grade, my music teacher told me to do that all the timeWww@QuestionHome@Com
