I wish you would have said what style of guitar your playing!.!.!.!.I play classical and acoustic and use nail for both, they don't have to be that long!. Go on google and type in this, "nail shaping for guitar playing" they show you the proper way to file your nails for attracting the strings, good luck to you !!!! I could never manage those picks for acoustic, it's much easier to use nails !!!!!!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depends on your nails and preferences!. I prefer nails but mine are flimsy, steel strings tear them up!. I use fingerpicks on steel strings (and have gotten totally used to them) and my nails on nylon/classical!. I still have to, and/or prefer to, keep my nails short!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
