Oh, yes, that is a fine guitar for a relative beginner!. It's made out of pretty good wood and has that flat, fast fingerboard!. The three-pickup configurations are particularly hot, and the inlay is very attractive!. The tremolo systems are double-locking, and you can get some killer whammy effects with that! I wish I could get my hands on one!.

Good luck getting a new guitar!

Ibanez has been making relatively good electric guitars for years, but I find them a bit pricey for the quality!.

I see that these models on the page all have a tremolo bridge!. If you don't need to integrate dive bombs in your playing, I'd say stay away from it!. The tremolo can lead to some frustrations because of those "can't stay tuned" problems, no matter the bridge's quality!.

As for the Ibanez's look, they kill!.

Take a look at these!. They are unbeatable for the price/quality :

I also find the Fender Stratocaster to be a great deal!.

Here is a great tip for buying a new axe!. Go to http://www!.musiciansfriend!.com and find the guitar you want to buy and read the comments from those who already own it!. You'll learn a lot from the instrument you want to buy with some unbiased opions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's a good guitar for the money!. I would get a Jackson over this one though!.
I have an old 1963 gibson Les Paul and I acquired a Jackson 24 fret fingerboard, active electronic!.
I love the Jackson for its gutsy sound and the response and playability at the high end fingerboard!.

Gibson has a better sound, more ballz, but I wish it had those 3 extra frets!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes they are good guitars!.!.!.
but also check out ESP LTD guitars too!.

I'm actually thinking of buying a ESP LTD MH-103 Quilted Maple axe with a double locking trem for $310!. I've heard ESP makes really good guitars too so check them out & read other peoples reviews on the ESP guitars too before you make a decision!. You can check out the ESP LTDs here

id say its ok,i have a fender strat!i find the strat nice and easy, but i actually play a heavy fender bass(my instrument of choice)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, you might want to try a schecter though!.!.!. they're usually pretty good for metal!. Ibanez is always a pretty good electric though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The locking tremelo could be a PITA if you break any strings!. Most music stores charge more money for setup etc!.
You don't need it!. Look how many pro guitars players don't use them and they are in tune (sometimes)Www@QuestionHome@Com
