I don't know how to play it but in my class some people took like 3 months and some took a year!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i still haven't "learned" everything and i've been playing in advanced groups and taking lessons for 5 years!. As for getting ANY sound, it took me about a month (once weekly lessons, 20 minutes of daily practice) to get out a note!. I'd say I understood the instrument after about 2 years, but I didn't breathe correctly until last summer (over 4 years!) and I'm just working on fixing my vibrato now!. Flute is a difficult instrument, just keep going, and eventually you'll be a lot closer to "mastering" it!. I'd say don't try to learn too much too fast, I now struggle with my high notes because I "taught" myself to play them incorrectly!. good luck and happy fluting!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not sure!. I started out teaching myself, so I tought myself alot of things wrong, which my band teacher helped me fix (I don't play flute in band alot, mainly bassoon!.)!. also, the pads on my flute were messed up (I could barely play the low G), so I had to get those fixed!. I was defintly playing alot better after about a year, when I got everything fixed (flute and bad habits)!. After that, it didn't take me long to learn 3 octaves on C!.

I started playing in the 6th grade, and I'm almost in 9th now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To get a sound, I made one on my frist try (obviously a horrible one, but we all have to start somewhere), but to actually learn how to play all the notes and everything, about 2 months!. Then, to actually get "good", it takes years of practice and a good teacher!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A few months to get a decent sound!. Yes, I was dizzy for a while!.

Then, one year before I started playing at school concerts!. Two years before I went to a national concert!. Start off slow at the beginning to prevent excessive dizziness!. (You probably won't be used to breathing that heavily!.) Then, once you master the basics, you can practice more frequently!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well it took me forever (a couple yrs or so) and once I "learned" how and made the school band, I was so lost I practically pretended to play along at recitals!. It was crazy hard for me, mostly cause I lost my motive and it was kind of gay!. I play electric guitar now, the past is behind me lol!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I started in 5th grade and it took me a couple months to get a decent sound out!. After that I learned all of the notes and techniques!. Now I'm in 9th grade and I'm second chair in the school Wind Ensemble but I'm still learning!. You are always learning more about the flute!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know if I can answer your question because I'm still learning new things!. It took me a month or two to get used to blowing and placing my fingers in the right places!. It takes practice!. There's still more to learn!. Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You never completely learn how to play it! I teach Flute and am still learning to be better at my instrument through people who are better than I am! Its a journey not a destinationWww@QuestionHome@Com

I am 19 now and I used to play when I was 11 and it took me a couple months or so to get it right!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
