Question: Electric gutiar help plzz!.!.!?!?!!!?
hey everyone!.!.!.
so!.!.like !.!.im learning the electric guitar!.!.just a beginner!.!.!.but then i got this problem!.!.!.with my amplifier!.!.cuz i ***** afford much on my amp i bought a small one which hasnt got distortion or anything!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.but now what i want to learn is rock guitar and i cant figure out what to do without distortion!?!?
im really broke now so i cant spend on another amplifier nor any other expensive distortion pedals or anything!.!.!.lol!.!.!.!.so what do i do!?!? i was all excited abt learning rock and now im reallly down

When i was just starting i also had no money to buy a fancy schmancy amp, and i was stuck with a small one with no effects, so i just went on to learn without it, then by the time ive had enough practice and got an amp with more options it sounded really great!.
The first Answerer is also right, craigslist has alot of stuff on there, i was looking for guitar stuff, and a guy had LOADS of guitar stuff, including 2 guitars and 2 basses (sp!?) those expensive distortion pedals, and 3 amps, he really wanted to get rid of it, and ended up selling if for $100!.
so try there if you dont want to wait!.

If you're just learning, then you don't want distortion, distortion is amazing and everything, i know i love playing with mine all the way on, it's so distorted you barely have to touch the string to make it ring, but when you use distortion as a beginner, you're really cheating yourself, the thing with distortion is obviously that you can't hear every note clearly, so this makes you sound better, as it hides the sound of a string you may not have hit perfectly or whatever!. So, while you might sound great with distortion on, when you start playing clean, you might be unpleasantly surprised that you don't sound as good as you might've, so, although this probably isn't the answer you want, you really need to practice up, so you know how to play songs properly, then maybe by then you'll have the money, and the skills to have a need for a distortion amp!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
What you want to learn is how to play a guitar!. Distortion will not make you a rock star, or a musician!. I practice with an acoustic, or an electric!. Many times, I don't even plug the guitar into the amp!. I know what it's going to sound like!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can learn it without distortion too!. Just learn to read music and start playing chords!.!.!.then your favourite songs!.

Are you sure there isn't a knob that says something like "NOTCH GAIN"!? That will distort your signal a fair bit!. You can still learn how to play 'rock style' with a clean amp, stick with it and you'll get happier!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
