I play the flute and recently heard someone play who has amazing tone on the flute!. I was just wondering if it is possible to, as a flute player, have your own distinctive sound!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am a professional flutist!. Of COURSE flutist have their own sounds! There are times when they need to be anonymous - many film scores, other background recording work - and to blend, when playing second flute!. But as a soloist, we strive to be distinctive!. Most of this is due to the player - some is due to the instrument, the headjoint material, and the headjoint CUT Some of this is debated among professional players - but we can identify many people by their sound!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

as with any instrument, the style you play greatly affects your "sound"!. it's all amount your inner tempo in combination with your own abilities!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
