Question: Does performing arts include singing!?
I want to do acting!.!.!. I don't mind dancing (but would rather not lol)!.!.!. but singing is something I really feel uncomfortable with!
If i go to college to do performing arts, is it likely we will have to learn singing at some point!?
I did a music course before!.!.!.!. drumming, yet we all HAD to sing and were made to perform songs in front of each other!. I refused to do it and my grades were low because of it!.!.!.!. I ended up leaving (after all I only wanted to drum!)

It depends on your specific major in the college!. If you are a theatre/acting major, you probably will not have to take any music or dance classes!. You can choose to take them if you wish, but they should not be required!. If you have already selected the collegy you wish to attend, look at the degree requirements for the different majors!. That should tell you exactly what courses you *have* to take, and which ones you have a choice about!.
You may have to take some kind of voice class, but it would most likely have more to do with pronunciation, diction, and projection then singing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Most colleges make you choose a major that is more specific than performing arts!. For example, if you want to do singing, you may choose to be a music major with emphasis in voice!. Or if you want to do drama, in college, that's called theater arts and is completely different than music!. Some theater degrees may also place emphasis on musical theater, so you can study singing and acting under one major!. Talk to the college you want to go to and see which majors they offer that best suits what you want to study!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can probably specialize in singing, but you will probably be required to do other things as well!.
I'm a mechanical engineer, but I had to take electrcial classes, as well!. It's just part of the degree!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
