Is this an electric!? If it's an acoustic, the finish is important to the tone, and should not be fussed with!.

If it's an electric, any competent artist ought to be able to do the work, using one of a variety of durable media!. You'll have to remove the strings for them, and make certain they're skilled enough not to dribble paint into your pick-ups!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

TR is absolutley right about the acoustic!.Look at willie Nelsons guitar!.Looks horrible but is a beautiful sounding classical acoustic!.If you want a good looking acoustic buy one, don't mess with the finish!. If you know anyone who paints motorcycles especially or cars talk to them!. They have the skill and the materials to put a durable finish on any solid body electric!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have a 1954 Martin D-41 and obviously it is acoustic, but I still painted it!. I just used finger paints from Hobby Lobby and it worked great!. It now has a mural of the San Luis Obispo skyline on the top, palomino horses running around the sides, and a full size head shot of Freddy Fender on the back and I can proudly say that I did it myself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They sell kits !. if you are a beginner, I recommend a kit!. If you are refinishing a guitar then anyone of these places will have supplies and info for you!.
