Well since you play Flute and are learning Violin!.
1!. You could join an Orchestra and do musicals!.

2!. also, you could become a Studio Session Player too!. They usually work for Solo Artists in the studios when they record their albums!. The Artist would pay you for playing Violin for them!. Because you play Flute & Violin!.!.!.you could get some serious Country Music & Jazz Session work!. There is always demand for Violinists in Country Music big time!.
If you learn guitar and Piano too!.!.!.that will bring you more opportunites to work with Pop & Rock Solo Artists too!.

3!. You could also join a Marching Corp too!.

4!. You can also become a Solo Artist yourself!. Jethro Tulls Lead singer plays Flute and they have been around since thre 1960s!. They were really famous in the 1960s!.!.!.!.but they still do play nowadays too!.

There are a number of music careers offstage!. I'll just throw out a few for you to research:
-music therapy (this is particularly great for autistic children)
-private instructor (please, only do this if you love to teach)
-writing about music (magazine articles, etc!.)
-numerous teaching avenues (theory, literature, history, coaching)
-educator for an orchestra or other performing arts organization

If you are looking for performing outside of the traditional orchestra/freelance/studio career, my recommendation is to form your own career!. After you master your instrument(s), learn about recording!. Create your own recordings for hire or for yourself!. You can give performances or talks/lead discussions, and offer your CD for sale!.

This is such a huge topic! Your best bet immediately is to practice your instrument and play with others as much as possible, in as many different situations you can!. There is no substitute for musical experience and mastery!. There is no overnight magic in this business, truly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can play any genre of music with any instrument (except maybe pipe organ!.!.!.!.which is debatable), there are no limits!.

Jobs include performance, composition and arrangement (including film music), band management, sound engineering, production, setting up before gigs, teaching, building and retailing musical instruments!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
