For a band director, the person they select as a drum major needs to be able to set the example for the rest of the band!. This means that they need to be a good musician, well-behaved, and has the respect of his/her peers!. But this also means that they need to set the example in the rest of their classes as well!. Someone who isn't doing well in their classes might not be the best role model for others to follow!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A good drum major candidate should never be on the inelligible list!. As far as chances in an audition, grades play a huge factor in selection, but marching, conducting, commanding, and leadership capabilities also have an important role!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
