Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
First, the soprano sax is not easy to play well!. I would recommend that you start with the alto sax because the mouthpiece is closer in size to the soprano !.!.!. soprano being much smaller!. To start with the tenor or baritone would make the transition tougher (it doesn't matter what concert key the instrument is in - the fingerings are all the same)!.

Learn the basics on the alto and then transfer over to soprano after a year or two!. Make sure you're learning from someone who understands the finer points of the saxophone!. It's easy to get a sound out of the saxophone - its not as easy to get a good sound, and if you don't learn properly at the start, it becomes increasingly harder to learn the right way later on!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

We I started selecting the Sax, I chose the Alto Sax!.

You might wanna try the Alto Saxophone, for beginners, then work your way up to Soprano!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You would be better with Tenor!. The switch to Soprano Sax will be more seamless since they are both in the same key and you will be able to use the same music sheetWww@QuestionHome@Com
