What key of harmonica should I get?

Question: What key of harmonica should I get!?

I want to learn how to play the hormonica and I only want to buy one for now!. What key should I buy!?

What do you want to do with it!? If you're just playing by yourself, it doesn't matter what key you get!. If you're accompaning yourself playing guitar (a la Bob Dylan), get one in A!. (G and D will also work for this, but they're less common)!.

If you're playing with a brass band, get one in Bb (F and Eb will also work for this!.)

If you can find it, you might want to get a harmonica with an adjustable lever that lets you change keys (such as an A-Bb model)!. And if you are looking to be a classical (or jazz) harmonica virtuoso, get a chromatic harmonica (and learn the Villa Lobos concerto & the works of Toots Thielemans)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
