I looked and looked and couldn't really find anything!.

Quite frankly, as Dave says himself, it's all about pushing a guitar through a high-gain tube stack!. He's used a few different amps, but he seems to keep coming back to the AC30 for its versatility!.

He does use a few pedals, but the only distortion one is a ProCo Rat that he will use to gain stack on one of the dirty amps - in other words, not the Rat by itself, but the Rat into a distorted amp!.

A DS-1 is going to be closer than an SD-1 in terms of tone, but neither are going to hit "that tone", cuz its not pedal distortion you're hearing, but amp distortion!.
