Seriously, anything you do is hard to learn if you really want to get good at it!.

Do you really love the rhythmic aspect of music!?
My sense is that folks who play the drums really have a love affair with the rhythmic part of music, almost to the exclusion of all else!. You probably want to work on piano, because at some point, you'll play tuned percussion, and a second-nature relationship with the piano keyboard will stand you in good stead!.

Oh, and even if you figure you'll just play drums, learn the rest of percussion, so that when somebody asks you to play in some event, you don't have to say, "Oops, sorry man, I only play drums!."

To do really well, you have to really, really want it!. If you're not REALLY sure, do something else!. Unless, of course, you just want to goof off and not take it too seriously!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Drum is one of the easiest instrument to mean in regards to sight reading and not having the hassle of making false notes as we say!.
On the slip side, you need a great deal of independence, more than any other instrument because you are using all your limbs!.
And, the physical energy it demands is another thing!. Finally, you need precision, rock solid timing and creativity!.

So, you lack any of these pointers, choose another instrument!. I regard the drum as the easiest hardest instrument in the long run!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No! At first everything is hard innit!?
But when you start, you will be so satisfied pounding those tom toms you'll love it!. And if you practice everyday for 2 hours or so!.!.!.you will be able to play in bands and jam in about 2-3 months!.!.

yes and no dependin on your musical talent or gifts some people just have it and they pick it up fast others just have to try a little harder, it is tricky tho, need lots of coordination!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
