Do you mean "ARE there a lot!?"

Yes, there are!. I know black violinists, violists, cellists and bassists!. They are VERY good!. But its a "white/Asian man's" trade so trying to break in is always difficult!. But there are those who do!. Even Hispanics have a difficult time!. Provide support!

Edit: I just went to a master's recital!. He was a black violinist, pianist and singer!. He is a classically trained jazz masters student!. He began with a Paganini Partita and then tore into some jazz!. The man is amazing!. Gorgeous tone and vibrato and great intonation!. Hell yes we have some black people representing!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure it's fair to say that "a lot" of people of any color play the violin, but you can find many black students in music conservatories and all styles of performance--tho' I admit that certain genres (jazz, hiphop, Latin) have a higher proportion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
