Question:I have a Fender acoustic, and the strings are way to close to the fretboard. The guitar pins on the bridge are to big and don't fit all the way into the hole, could that be the problem? Or do i need lighter strings?

First, the strings are too close because the truss rod needs to be loosen 1.4 turn counter-clcokwise. Their has to be a gap of approx. 1/16" between the string and fingerboard in the middle.
As for lighter strings, this will remove tension and lower the action much more.

As for the pins, it is normal and better if they don't go all the way down. Eventually, they will get used and descend lower.

you probably need to get a professional to adjust the neck of your guitar (pretty common anual proceedure). also, see if you can find bridge pins that fit in the bridge of your guitar (before you do that though, look up "changing strings on an acoustic guitar" and see how people put the bridge pins on, you might be doing it wrong). If anything you would want heavier strings rather than lighter strings.

If all this doesn't work, you might need to look into buying and installing a new nut.

good luck!

sounds like your guitar is very dry. You need to humidify all acoustic guitars or the wood shrinks and can crack. I think all your problems could be solved by a good "setup" I take all my guitars to www.repairguitar.com
