Position:Home>Performing Arts> What is the best way to learn how to sing if you have had speech problems in the

Question:Get a highly qualified voice teacher. When I took classical voice lessons in jr high, the lady really helped me learn to pronounced all my vowels correctly so that my mouth and throat would be open and relaxed while singing. She helped with pronunciation a lot and I really became a better singer, and I learned how to get the most out of my range but not to strain my voice. I think classical voice lessons are great for this.
Some people's speech problems seem to disappear when they sing. Look at Ozzy Osbourne. He has quite an accent, and seems to mumble incoherently when he speaks, but he sings quite clearly. Amazing! And what a talent.
I wouldn't let speech problems stop you from singing. You can do it! Good luck.

I've had speech problems in the past but i sing impeccably because when you sing, the sound resonates better through your head then when you talk. Get a vocal trainer and train normally and you should be fine.
