kay, dude, the flute is Sooo not the same as the clarinet! i play the flute And the saxophone and i must admit, i like the flute better. But thats only because it sounds "prettier". i think this descision is really up to you... i mean, the ombochure for the flute compared to the clarinet is very different and obviously the saxophone and the clarinet are very similar but it really is up to you. maybe play both! :D good luck... <3

Saxaphone, because you wouldn't be asking this question if you liked the clarinet and the clarinet is in the same instrument family as the flute. Or the piano, the piano may be a bit challenging for you but you're smart and you need to be challenged or else you'll get bored.

Flute! Easy to carry, not too difficult to play, quite cheap (at least if compared to the sax)...

well, i personally like the flute more but my sister started out playing the clarinet ans then switched to alto sax, she loves it even though now she wants a soprano sax.... it wasn't that hard for her to learn how to play it because it has alot of the same notes as the clarinet

I prefer Saxaphone, it'll be easy to switch from a reeded instrument to another reeded instrument. Saxes need a bit more air, though.

If you really hate the sound of the clarinet [or reeded instruments] you can try Flute. I have never played it, but have several friends who do. The only benefit about a Flute is that the scales are easy because Flutes are [for the most part] set in the key of C.
