A friend just purchased an A&L guitar and it buzzed yesterday, but did not buzz today, so give it a few days.

When it comes to string buzz, there are many causes and the only way to figure out what is causing the problem is to check all the possibilities. By process of elimination you should be able to get rid of the buzz. On a new guitar, and with only the first few frets buzzing, I'm betting it's an issue with the nut.

Regardless, you should probably return the guitar and have them repair or exchange it.

To examine the many possibilities, check these out:

Remember, it could go away on its own. Humidity may be playing a role here.

Be patient!

idk i suck at the guitar

Take the guitar to a local guitar shop and have them file down the frets. you can generally go up 1 gauge without having to get your guitar re-set, so you could go to 10's with no problem.

My first guitar was an Art & Luthrie! Right on! :D

I always use medium strings on mine. It's not going to hurt anything.

I've never had a guitar buzz, unless my fingers aren't close enough to the frets. If that's not the problem, take it to the music store and see what they can do for you.

If you put medium gauge, it will buzz even more and secondly, you will need to adjust the truss rod.

Your problem is that the string is defective. Change it!!! Usually, when you pick that string, it should make a beautiful oval shape. Yours is probably showing a broken oval vibration.
