Position:Home>Performing Arts> I am a first time model, where do I turn?

Question:It's been a thing in my family that when I turn 14 I can model, that's in roughly 6 months. I am little scared? I don't really know what to do, and the last model in my family lived on the west coast so we dont know where to go for a safe starting place for me. I live in the seacoast NH area, any good agencies?

My first thought was 'you turn at the end of the catwalk!!'
Start by checking out local agencies in your area and state. Get some experience and a portfolio together. Then you can look at larger agencies. Work your way up.
Beware of who you go to and get legal advice before signing any contracts. Some operators are dodgy and offer the world, take your money and give nothing in return. Above all don't let yourself be forced to do photo shots that you feel uncomfortable with. Some operators will say that you need to do underwear/bikini/skimpy shoots if you want to get anywhere and if you don't do it you can forget your modelling career. At your age this is not acceptable. Find a more reputable agency if this happens.
Good Luck
