Position:Home>Performing Arts> How much do you think a descent beginners electric guitar would be?

Question:At least $200.00, spend a couple of hours in the guitar store and see what you like that's in your budget, and one that has the action and sound that your looking for.....they have a lot of inexpensive guitars today like the Yamaha, (acoustic) at around $200.00 - $250.00 and even lower if you ask. I like to see my students start out with an acoustic.....why spend all the money on things like amps, etc when your not even sure yet if you have the ability to play. Electric don't sound well unless you know how to play, why not get an acoustic for now, and save the electric for later on. I've had a lot of students who disagreed with me, and then they would come for their lesson and want to play my acoustic, they thought that it sounded better !!!!!!!!!!!

$200 for a respectable guitar: Ibanez, Epiphone, Fender, Washburn.

$100 for a cheapie Fender or Epiphone.

Go into a guitar shop and have someone point out the differences in quality, so you make an educated choice.
