Position:Home>Performing Arts> Why do I find it impossible to solo on my acoustic guitar!!!?

Question:I have an electric guitar already, but I want to solo with my acoustic one. -you know when the song is completely acoustic and there's a solo in it-
I CAN'T make a full bend, and to bend half step is a struggle. To do hammer ons and pulls off, I have to put a lot of pressure. (all of these especially with the lower strings). My hand gets tired easily.
I think it's because the strings aree too stiff/tightened...
I was wondering if changing my strings and using electric guitar strings would help (the strings I have for electric guitar are lighter).

Or is it that my guitar is not for playing solos but only for rythm ?
Btw it's an acoustic Ibanez AEL20E

There could be lots of reasons.

The strings could be too heavy. The action could be too high. The scale length of your guitar could be too long. It could be a guitar just not suited for playing solos.

I wouldn't put electric guitar strings on it, but would go for a lighter grade of acoustic string.

Personally I can't stand acoustic guitar solos, but that's just me.

Try using ultra light (9's) such as Martin for your acoustic. They will help you bend notes and are much easier to play.
