Great folk or alt rock song to sing at audition?

Question:i need help!! i want to audition for spring awakening but i dont know what song to sing and it cant be broadway. i am a girl and i want a song i can sing in my chest voice and would love a song i can belt to. the audition is March 15th!!! thanks for the helppp

Any song by heart would be good.. Stay away from Stevie Nicks, a lot of girls use her at auditions..

If you want to go more pop rock you could also go for Pat Benatar? Or who is it that sings Black Velvet? If you can really belt that would be a great one.

I sang Come to My Window by Melissa Etheridge at a rock audition recently, they really enjoyed it.

"Piece of My Heart" by Janis Joplin w/Big Brother and the Holding Company.

"Love Song" by Sara Bareilles. Awesome song, and the chorus provides for a lot of "belting". Maybe sing the prechorus and chorus? Here's a link to the music video for the song.

choose songs you really know and love. i personally would choose classic rock hits, because most people know those, but if thats not the type of music you listen to, stick to what you know best!
