Acting audtion..??

Question:I have never done an acting audition before, and the college i go to is putting on a "Boy Gets Girl" production. The audition description says: "Please prepare a contemporary monologue (or a cold script may be given)" I think it says it may be given anyways.. what does any of this mean and does any1 have any suggestions??????

Just go with a smile on your face. A cold script is just a script you've never read before. Don't think!

For future auditions, there are books that can help you prepare, especially if you're given a copy of the material in advance. Here's one that looks good: "How to Get the Part...Without Falling Apart" by Margie Haber. She has a web site at margiehaber.com.
