That's not an issue and specialize in gibson repairs. First and foremost, loosen the 2 middle string since Gibson has a weaker headstock than Fenders.... Trust me..... I know the scope.
You need a 1/4" or 3/8" screwdriver with a hex socket head.DO NOT USE RATCHET OR WTV... you can damage the neck and even break the headstock.

Now, hold the neck close to the hexnut with the other hand and turn clockwise to tighten, and counter-clockwise to loosen.
Same principle with fender except that you are using a screwdriver and CANNOT apply a had twist but rather a steady slow turn. Sometimes, the first twist will make a crackling sound and that is because of some of the shellac or paint landing there.

I wouldn't mess with that, I'd take it to a professional....they have a rod in there and unless you know what your doing you could mess it up !!!!!! If you can't afford to have a pro look at it go on google and type in this : how to adjust the neck on a Gibson Les Paul, maybe they'll have step by step instructions....or tell you where to take it !!!!!!!!!!! I'm curious, what's wrong with the neck ???? Is is starting to warp, if so even more reason to take it to a pro ????
