He was a musical genius, not only a composer but a prodigy on the violin. He was also noted for his flaming red hair.....he was also a catholic priest, therefore he was given the nicknamed, the Red Priest. He was born in Venice on March 4th,1678 to Giovanni Battista and Camilla Calicchio. He was the eldest of six children. I love all his violin concertos, with the "Four Seasons" being my favorite. He died at 63 , they think of asthmatic bronchitis, they called it the "internal fire", and he suffered from this his entire life .

Well, I'm pretty sure he played an important role in Bach's life, he helped him along a bit...I think. Oh yeah, he was a very good violinist.
